Prof. Dr. Honoris Causa Ion Irimescu (1903 – 2005) was one of Romania's greatest sculptors and sketchers as well as a Member of the Romanian Academy. The "Ion Irimescu" Art Museum Building, a historical monument, was built in the mid nineteenth century and had various destinations, until 1974 when it was assigned to the art museum. His works have been exhibited around the world (Paris, Moscow, Belgrade, Budapest, Istanbul, Warsaw, Rome, Prague, Oslo, Tokyo, etc.). In addition to the work the artist donated to his home town, many of his works are present in the great museums of the country such as National Art Museum of Romania, Moldova Iaşi National Museum Complex, Art Museum in Constanța, Visual Art Museum in Galați, Art Museum in Cluj, but also in foreign museums (National Gallery of Art in London, the Outdoor Museum in Middelhein-Anvers-Belgium, Ambrosian Library in Milan, Art Museum in Thel-Aviv etc.), in private collections in the country and abroad.

He is the successor of a golden generation of Romanian sculpture from Dimitrie Paciurea, Oscar Han, Ion Jalea, Gheorghe Anghel to the unique Constantin Brâncusi. Los Angles County Museum of Art, LACMA
Although the museum is one of the youngest in the United States, it is fairly large and comprehensive museum, a significant representation of European art, ranging from antiquity to the present day. The museum was inaugurated only in 1965. However, a large part of the collection came from the Los Angeles Museum of History, Science and Art, which was established a century earlier. The museum is also known for its Modern art items as well.

The Giorgi Chitaia Open Air Museum of Ethnography is an open-air museum in Tbilisi displaying the examples of folk architecture and craftwork from various regions of the country. The museum is named after Giorgi Chitaia, a Georgian ethnographer, who founded the museum (1966). The museum is located west to Turtle Lake on a hill overlooking the Vake district, Tbilisi. It is essentially a historic village populated by buildings moved there from all main territorial subdivisions of Georgia. The museum occupies 52 hectares of land and is arranged in eleven zones, displaying around 70 buildings and more than 8,000 items.
