Slide 2:

Student Page [ Teacher Page ] Title Introduction Task Process Evaluation Conclusion Credits Introduction You are a space hero. A little friend on planet earth asked your help to solve a mysterious case, on identifying which are congruent or similar. Since you are new in the planet, you have to investigate first what is meant by congruent and similar . So, prepare your portal book/paper and your bullet pen. And, let’s GO!

Slide 3:

Student Page [ Teacher Page ] Title Introduction Task Process Evaluation Conclusion Credits Task You will encounter a bundle of problems. Just be on the right track. Remember, you have to define the terms properly so that you can help our friend in solving the mysterious case. And don’t forget that there are still others who need your help.

Slide 9:

[ Student Page ] Teacher Page Title Introduction Learners Standards Process Resources Evaluation Teacher Script Conclusion Credits Introduction This lesson is developed to remediate the problem of teaching mathematics (geometry) by integrating information technology (IT) in instruction. The lesson is all about the congruence and similarity of objects. A basic concept in geometry and is one of the foundations of the subject. This concept is very helpful in the real-life scenario most especially for engineers.

Slide 10:

[ Student Page ] Teacher Page Title Introduction Learners Standards Process Resources Evaluation Teacher Script Conclusion Credits Learners This lesson is intended for the 9 th grade mathematics to reinforce learning by the use of technology and the web. Before taking the challenge, the students must already have known several properties of polygons, especially triangles. This will serve as their guide in doing the task.

Slide 11:

Use your portal book to visit this site: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Geometry/Congruency_and_Similarity Differentiate congruence and similarity. Copy or give some examples. The activity is given to the class to be done individually. The students are allowed to surf the net and find relevant data. However, the teacher must be more patient and must be able to monitor each one’s activities.

Slide 13:

[ Student Page ] Teacher Page Title Introduction Learners Standards Process Resources Evaluation Teacher Script Conclusion Credits Resources The lesson needs only one teacher to facilitate and monitor students’ activities. On the other hand, it is recommended that each student must have an e-mail account. The students must submit their output via e-mail (as specified by the teacher).

Slide 14:

Additional input means additional points (e.g.: reflection) Task Level 1 Level 2 Level 3 Score Define congruence Defined the word correctly Expressed the definition in a comprehensive manner Defined comprehensively and used graphic examples. Define similarity Defined the word correctly Expressed the definition in a comprehensive manner Defined comprehensively and used graphic examples.

Slide 15:

[ Student Page ] Teacher Page Title Introduction Learners Standards Process Resources Evaluation Teacher Script Conclusion Credits Teacher Script/Lesson Plan Objective At the end of the lesson, at least 85% of the students will be able to: Define congruence and similarity Construct congruent and similar polygons Differentiate congruence and similarity Procedure OK, class, the activity for this day will be done by using IT. I will give you the webquest and you must submit to me the needed output.

Slide 16:

[ Student Page ] Teacher Page Title Introduction Learners Standards Process Resources Evaluation Teacher Script Conclusion Credits Conclusion Finding out the relationship between shapes gives us a new way to view things. The lesson is very helpful for the students to be able to construct similar and congruent objects which are helpful in the real-life scenario – the teaching-learning process.
