slide 2: What Are Air-Source Heat Pumps
An air-source heat pump is a system that transfers
heat from outside to the inside of a building.
It offers one-and-a-half to three times more heat
energy to a home than the electrical energy it
consumes.
Read further to see the types of air-source pumps.
slide 3: 3 TYPES OF AIR-SOURCE HEAT PUMPS-
1. Ductless Vs Ducted Heat Pumps
Ductless pumps require minimal construction of a
small three-inch hole through the wall. These systems
are quite cost-effective.
Ducted systems simply use ductwork. If your home
already has a ventilation system this would be a
better option for you.
slide 4: 2.Split vs. Packaged
Most homeowners have split systems with one coil
inside and one outside. Supply and return ducts in this
system connect to the indoor central fan.
Packaged systems have both coils and the fan
outdoors. Heated or cooled air is delivered to the
interior from ductwork that passes through a wall or
roof.
slide 5: 3.Multi-Zone vs. Single-Zone
Single-zone systems are designed for a single room
with one outdoor condenser matched to one indoor
head.
Multi-zone installations can have two or more indoor
heads connected to one outdoor condenser. It is
mainly used to heat or cool open spaces.
