Tips for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Upgrade Execution When upgrading from AX 2009 into D365 There Are Lots of things to Remember at the same time you execute the upgrade. Here are Only a few of these: 1. Development environment Maintain an AX 2009 development environment with manufacturing data available whilst traveling through the update procedure. Testers and developers will often access this system to reference how performance and the information gleaned in 2009. 2. Replacement processes Identify replacement Procedures for deprecated Attributes used in 2009. If deprecated processes are critical to your operations get comfortable Using the replacement processes in D376 prior to going live. You dont need to get Trapped in a challenging situation.

3. Adopting new options When possible think about adopting new modules/ISVs/processes in D365 at a stage following the update. If you add new processes into the mix while updating you interject greater change than is required at one time. If you encounter an issue using all the new modules its difficult to know whether the issue is using the software or migrated data or if its because of a lack of comprehension in the new procedure. 4. Migrating data There is not a data upgrade route from 2009 to D365 the information have to be migrated. Microsoft supplies a tool/hotfix you install into your AX 2009 surroundings that extracts information to files. Another area of the application is a setup form in which you inform AX where in Lifecycle Services LCS to push those files along with your extracted data. Type through what data you want to migrate then get the tool set up in your 2009 surroundings so are acquainted with it. 5. Review customizations In your AX 2009 production environment navigate to Administration Reports System Element usage log and run the report. The report tells you when each ISV custom and customized form was last used. If you have customizations not being used save some time and money and don’t recreate them in Dynamic 365.
