Introduction to troubleshooting Dynamics 365 Operations Mobile Application My initial impression Coming into the mobile app was when Im publishing cellular workspaces and then running them on my mobile device that the majority of the code has been running on the mobile device and that Id have to do something fancy to find out exactly what it was doing. This was completely Wrong All X++ logic is still about the AOS sounds clear now the cell program is just displaying results back to the user. This means my first tip is to use Trace Parser to trace what the program is doing exactly the like looking at a problem in the browser the trace will show X++ running SQL queries timings etc.. My second tip is Related to the first - connect into the associated AOS and debug the X+ logic behind the cell workspace. Using Trace Parser first will reveal which forms/classes its using so it is possible to set your breakpoints in the right places.

The particular issue I Was looking into wasnt associated with X++ logic however - the problem was when I logged into the mobile application it worked fine however when I signed out then I could not log in again without uninstalling and reinstalling the app. With this issue I wanted to determine how the mobile app was communicating with the outside world - with ADFS this happened to be on- premises together with the AOS. Normally in the background browser Id use Fiddler to see what calls were being made and pick up mistakes in communication the fantastic thing is that you can do the same using a cellphone you just connect your device along with your notebook to the identical WiFi and then place the device to utilize Fiddler on your notebook for a proxy as explained here. This setup provides you the ability to produce tests on your device and see the results instantly in Fiddler on your notebook just like you would with the desktop . Its also possible to debug the code Running on the device itself but I did not need to do that for My issue so saving that for a rainy day. Tag Dynamic 365 Finance and Operations mobile on-premise
