Why woman treated as untouchable during menstrual cycle period in those days?:

Why woman treated as untouchable during menstrual cycle period in those days? Women were supposed to handle hard work along with men in those days like working in farms etc. This isolation was initially started with the motivation to give woman break from hardships, a sort of rest which normally woman do not get.   It was practiced with good intention in old days.

Temples in old days are constructed with less ventilation and there used to always a deepa (candle) which increases the temperature inside the temple. Woman's body temperature raises during menstrual days and having her exposed to more heat was not advisible . This was one of the reason why she was asked to not to enter temple.

Why should one apply bindi / tilak /any mark on the forehead? The three most important Nadi in our bodies namely Idaa , Pingalaa and Sushumnaa run through the forehead. Men and Women had to apply a mark of Vibuti or Sandal Paste on their foreheads. If you notice carefully, men either have to apply the Vibhuti pattai or the Thiruman with Sri Churnam . Its application is such that each time its applied, your fingers touch the three Nadis and hence keep them activated.

Talking about the logic behind this punishment, it is very interesting to know that this particular posture increases the blood flow in the memory cells in brain and synchronizes the right and left side of the brain to improve function and promote calmness, stimulates neural pathways via acupressure points in the earlobe, sharpens intelligence and also helps those learning difficulties and behavioral problems.

Throwing copper into the river mixed it with the water, and since it was the only source of clean water those days, people drank the river water. Drinking water mixed with copper is very good for health

Joining both hands ensures joining the tips of all the fingers together; which are denoted to the pressure points of eyes, ears, and mind. Pressing them together is said to activate the pressure points. This helps us to remember the person for a long time.

Scientific reason:-  On auspicious days and on special occasions, all of us gather at one place along with our relatives and friends. Mango leaves and neem leaves are very effective in the photosynthesis process comparative to other plants . Neem leaves purify the bacteria too .

To apply turmeric on the body while bathing (for women). In order to prevent their feet and legs from the bacterial and fungus infections; they were advised to apply turmeric paste to their legs. In today’s medicine we all know that turmeric is an very good antiseptic agent.

why do we do aarti when anyone come from outside When anyone comes from outside bring lots of micro organisms around him. which are not visible.so when we do aarti the micro organism around our face get killed.
