Introduction:- Branch of spectroscopy in which radio frequency waves induce transition between m agnetic energy level of nuclei of a molecule. Powerful tool for investigating nuclear structure.

Spin-Spin coupling:- The interactions between the spins of neighbouring nuclei in a molecule may cause the splitting of the lines in the NMR spectrum . Area under the broad nmr signal & total area under several spilt signals remains same.

Shielding-Deshielding:- Shielding or Deshielding Protons In Molecule As we have seen, depending on electronic environment protons in molecules are shielded or deshielded by different amounts. So, shielded proton shows absorption of signals to right side and deshielded protons at left side of spectrum.
