Key Terms 1 Technology- the practical use of human knowledge to extend human abilities and to satisfy human needs and wants. System- an organized way of achieving a goal.

Key Terms 2 Input, process, output, feedback- The parts of a system . Input is what is put into a system. Process is the action part of a system. Output is the result of a system’s process. Feedback tells whether not the system is on track. Communication Technology-the process used to exchange information.

It is a well organized game to meet everyone in your class. The system of the game is that half of the class sits down while the other half of the class goes around the room. The benefits of the game is to know everyone's name and what they like. The problem was that you were only meeting half of the class. We modified the system by having the people sitting down meet the other people that were sitting down. The Name Game

The Marshmallow Challenge The Marshmallow challenge is a challenge for anybody. You have 18 minutes to build the tallest free standing structure. You have to build it with a yard of tape, 20 uncooked spaghetti, and a string. The hard part is that you half to balance a marshmallow on the top. In our group we had a great idea, but once we had to put the marshmallow on top the structure kept falling down. We could complete the challenge.

Inventers Project Inventor's Name: Henry Ford Date of Birth/ Date of Death- July 30th 1863, April 7th 1947 Describe the inventor's early life and education. - The inventor grew up in Dearborn Michigan. At an early age he showed interest in mechanical things and not farm work. When he was 16 he went to Detroit to be an apprentice machinist. He also worked at the Westinghouse engine company. Describe the inventor's most important work and invention. – In 1903 he created the first ford car, the ford model T. It sold for a whopping 950$. He also created the assembly which beat a record for making a car. The previous record was 728 minutes and he did it in 93 minutes! List interesting information about the life of the inventor. - In 1918 half of the cars in America were Ford Model T. He also made the first horseless carriage. When he died he was buried in a graveyard named after him. Ford is on of the most popular companies in Europe.

Inventor's Name: George Washington Carver Date of birth/ date of death- January 1864- January 5th 1943. Describe the inventor's early life and education: He grew on a farm of Moss Carver. He was growing up in difficult times because the civil war was just ending. Early in his life he and his mother was kidnapped and sent off to Arkansas. He found his way home but his mom never did. Describe the inventor's most important work and invention: In Georges eyes he felt like he did something important. He created a peanut agricultural science. This invention was very helpful to the way we farm. It is still important today even though he has been dead for over 60 years. List interesting information about the life of the inventor- He received 3 patents between 1925-1927. When he grew up he was a slave in the south. He created hundreds of ways to use the peanut. Inventor's Name – Thomas Edison Dates of Birth/ Date of Death – February 11th 1847- October 18th 1931 Describe the inventor's early life and education. - He was born to middle class parents in Milan, Ohio. In his early school years he teachers can see he was not a regular student. He ended up getting home schooled because of his poor behavior. At the age of 12 he lost almost all of his hearing. He had a bad childhood. Describe the inventor's most important work and invention. – In 1871 he created many new improvements in the stock ticker technology. In 1877 he creates the carbon transmitter which improves the telegraph. In 1880 he created one of the most important inventions ever the light bulb. The light bulb is one of the greatest inventions ever. List interesting information about the life of the inventor. - In 1871 he married Marry Stillwell. He was a very bad student. He got homeschooled by his mom. He grew up in the biggest port city at the time. Inventors Project
