FACTS ABOUT LA MANCHA & HOGAR DE LA NIÑA There are currently about 90 girls with a staff of nearly 20 nuns and novices. There are enough beds for 160 girls, if funding existed. The ages of girls range from infant to 15-years-old. The girls can receive the equivalent of a 6 th grade education. The facility receives NO local or government funding or financial support. La Mancha volunteers pay their own transportation, food, and lodging costs. La Mancha’s annual budget ranges between $7,000 and $10,000. 2012 was the 5 th year of work completed at the girls’ home.
