The Safety and well-being of our students is our highest priority! The following Safety Standards are in place for ALL of School of Rock. MySafeSchool – online incident reporting tool Safety Training, Safety Test and the School of Rock Key Franchise Policy Acknowledgement Background Checks and Safety Screens for all School of Rock teachers and staff

Safety Standard Deadlines:

Safety Standard Deadlines August - Communicate out MySafeSchool to all teachers, staff, students and parents. Hang poster in a visible place within your school. August 1 – Franchise Owners and/or General Managers will need to onboard all of their school staff using the link: http:// personnel.schoolofrock.com/ October 1 – Set-up a school account with Universal for background checks and safety screens. November 1 – Each school complete “background safety screens” for all current teachers and staff. November 1 – All teachers and staff must have completed the Safety Training, Test and D ocusign the SOR Key Franchise Policy Acknowledgement. All new hires after November 1 st must complete a background check, Safety Training, Test and Key Franchise Policy Acknowledgement prior to their first day of work .

Incident Reporting Policy: The 60 Minute Rule :

Incident Reporting Policy: The 60 Minute Rule The “60 Minute Rule” requires teachers and staff to report certain incidents and events within one hour of occurrence, or within one hour of occurrence becoming known to a teacher or staff member. What is a 60 Minute Incident? A “60 Minute Incident” is any incident that may cause harm to School of Rock, our students, staff or parents, or anyone else on School of Rock premises or at School of Rock events.

Abuse of Power, Authority and Control Harassment Acceptable Use Violations Information Security Accounting/Audit Related Complaints or Concerns Misconduct Bullying Misuse of Resources or Property Child Abuse and Neglect (Critical) Policy Violation Child Related Incidents (all other) Property Damage Conflict of Interest Questions or Suggestions for Improvement Copyright or Trademark Infringement Retaliation Customer Mistreatment Safety Concerns Discrimination Substance Abuse Employee Relations Theft Financial Misconduct Other To report these incidents we now use MySafeSchool

The MySafeSchool Process:

The MySafeSchool Process Incidents filed in MySafeSchool will directly route to the appropriate Franchise Owner and SOR Franchise Director. The appropriate Franchise Owner will log in and review the incident through Okta . The MySafeSchool record is where all conversations, emails and actions taken regarding the incident will be recorded. This includes when Child Protective Services (CPS) is contacted; the CPS case number should be added to the incident report. Franchise Owners will manage the incident directly in MySafeSchool and close it out once appropriate action or review have been completed.

MySafeSchool Next Steps:

MySafeSchool Next Steps MySafeSchool will be placed on all School of Rock websites and microsites . Each school will receive the MySafeSchool poster shown here the first week in August to hang in schools. Each school will receive a link to print flyers to have available in schools. Each Franchise Owner will be made a user in the MySafeSchool website and the link to access it will be placed on Okta . Each Franchise Owner will receive a welcome email from MySafeSchool the first part of August with instructions for accessing.

Safety Training:

Safety Training The 20 minute online School of Rock Safety Training covers: MySafeSchool The “Sixty Minute Incident Reporting Policy” Child abuse and child neglect; what to look for and what it is Self injurious behavior and imminent danger; how to recognize and handle each Appropriate conduct for visitors, parents, students and staff, while on School of Rock premises or at School of Rock events After the video each participant will be required to pass a 12 question test, by answering at least 10 questions correctly Once the test is completed, the franchise owner will receive an email notifying them if the teacher or staff member passed The results are stored in NetSuite THIS TRAINING IS REQUIRED TO BE COMPLETED BY NOVEMBER 1 st FOR ALL TEACHERS, MANAGERS AND STAFF. Going forward, all new hires must complete this training on their first day of work .

School of Rock Key Franchise Policies:

School of Rock Key Franchise Policies Once a teacher or staff member has successfully completed the Safety Training Test, they will receive an email with a link to review and acknowledge the Key Franchise Policies. After they review the Policies, they will acknowledge understanding and compliance by “ Docusigning ” the Policies online. The current Key Franchise Policies include: Non-Fraternization Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace No Smoking and Tobacco-Free Workplace Reporting of Child Abuse and Neglect Unlawful Discrimination and Harassment in the Workplace Incident Reporting (“ 60-Minute Rule ”) Social Media Use of Communication, Computer Systems and Company Equipment Anti-Bribery (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act ) Note: These are our current policies; these policies are subject to change.

The Safety Training & Policy Acknowledgment Process :

The Safety Training & Policy Acknowledgment Process F ranchise Owners and/or General Managers will need to onboard all of their school staff using the link: http://personnel.schoolofrock.com / the first week of August After submitting the form, a Contact Record is created in NetSuite , and an email is sent to the new user with a link to the Safety Training. The user will watch the video presentation (page 1) and take the test (page 2) . Finally, they will see their test results (page 3) . The Franchise Owner or GM will receive an email with the staff member's test results, whether the individual passes or fails. If a teacher or staff member fails the test , they will receive an email with a link to retake it If they pass the test , they will receive a link to complete the Policy Acknowledgement in a separate email P ass/Fail results will be available on the Contact Record in NetSuite.

Universal Background Screening specializes in employment background checks and is School of Rock’s required vendor for background checks and safety screenings . Universal Rates and Packages:

Universal Rates and Packages All current teachers and staff as of August 1 st must have a “Safety Screen”, as outlined below. This is at a significant discount to the standard package. All new hires, hired after November 1 st , and current teachers and staff who have not had the “safety-screen” completed by November 1 st , will be required to complete the “Standard Package” below. Universal offers School of Rock, and it’s franchise owners, an automatic discount, without any account set up fees . Standard Package ~ Cost : $29.85 Social Security Address/Alias Trace County criminal Search for the past 7 years ( Includes all counties developed by the Social Security Trace within the past 7 years) USA Criminal Search + USA Offender Search Database Safety-Screen Package ~ Cost: $8.75 Social Security Address/Alias Trace USA Criminal Search + USA Offender Search Database After November 1 st , the “Safety Screen” package may be used for teachers and staff 2 years after their hire date and/or the date their last background check was completed.

New Hire Checklist for Management:

New Hire Checklist for Management Applications Provide all candidates an Application for Employment and have them complete before or after their interview. If a candidate is qualified, and you want to offer them a position: Move to Background Check Step and hold their Application to file in their Employee file. If the candidate is qualified, but another candidate is selected: Keep a copy of the Application in a recruitment folder for at least one year. If the candidate is not qualified: Keep a copy of the Application in a recruitment folder for at least one year. Background Checks Ensure an individual is a qualified candidate, and that you are strongly considering offering them a position, before requesting a background check. Do not make any offers contingent on background check results. Once a candidate’s background check is cleared , you can contact the candidate to make an offer and to discuss a start date . Once the new hire completes the background check and Safety Training, the Franchise Owner must go to the individual’s Contact Record and check off “Background Check Complete. ” Safety Training and Key Franchise Policy Acknowledgement Note: this must be done prior to working with students in the schools. The Franchise Owner will send the new hire a link to set up a NetSuite account and to take the safety training (URL TBD). The Franchise Owner will be emailed pass/fail results each time the test is taken. Test results will be available on the Contact Record in NetSuite. *Please note that School of Rock, LLC is not the employer of teachers or staff in franchise schools . We are providing this checklist as part of our support services to our franchise owners.
