Indian Art Collector Kiran Nadar ’s Museum has presented over 80 Exhibitions across India and the World The Indian art collector Kiran Nadar and her team of Indian art directors have done more to promote Indian art and art in India in the course of a decade than ever before. The exhibitions presented by the museum have evolved with the institute ’s multi- focal vision on assimilating presenting and processing cultural material. Highlighting modern and contemporary art of South Asia. This has been well covered and appreciated by different media publications and Indian art magazines. KNMA its collection exhibitions and the multiple interventions made by the museum in the fields of art culture education and knowledge production to generate awareness is well covered. “Though the idea of opening a private art museum occurred with the intention of sharing my art collection with the larger public I was also acutely aware of the existing dearth of institutional spaces that could bring visibility to modern and contemporary art from India and the subcontinent ” expresses Indian Art Collector and KNMA Chairperson Kiran Nadar. One of the prominent Indian art directors recognized by various Indian art magazines is Roobina Karode who is the Director and Chief Curator at the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art. Since KNMA ’s inception in 2010 she has curated several acclaimed exhibitions at KNMA. Karode curated Open Doors at the launch of KNMA Noida in 2010 and Time Unfolded at the opening of KNMA Saket in 2011. Focused on expanding the audience-base and connecting the general public with urban art practices Karode expresses "KNMA is premised on the belief that art museums today are not merely repositories of art objects or sites of display but can be mobilized as spaces for dialogue and sustained interaction." Karode specializes in Art History and in Education and has been involved with the teaching of Western and Indian Art History 1990-2006 at various institutions mainly The School of Art Aesthetics Jawaharlal Nehru University The National Museum Institute College of Art and the Jamia Millia Islamia University in New Delhi.
