Generation: Power sector comprises of thermal, nuclear and hydropower plant business. Today BHEL supplied sets account for nearly 6473 MW or 68% of the total installed capacity of 99146 MW in company as against nil in 1969-70. OIL RIGS CONTROL   System description The system consist of six 670 KW , 12.5 KVA, 3 phase, 50 Hz diesel generator feeding a common 600V collecting bus. The system can be operated with any number of generators running on the line and control of each generated frequency and volume is set individually on the respective switch gear cubicle. Six SCR plant power cubicles are connected to the common bus and draw AC power from which ever generator running, converting it to DC power for driving various DC motors.

DC CONTROL MODULE SCR Sillicon controlled rectifier is a solid state switching device that is used to rectify on AC to produce DC. It provides controlled rectification, this enable a fixed voltage AC supply to be converted into a variable voltage DC supply. It ensures very fast recovery of generator voltage following changes in load demand. The protective features ensure safe operation of the generator.
