The dev elopment which happened three days before the AIPMT 2016 exam has created a lot of confusion amongst medical aspirants who were studying for v arious medical entrance exams all across the country. Our experts at Byju’s are here to help the students to clear the air surrounding AIPMT and NEET. What is NEET NEET i.e. National Eligibility-cum-Entrance T est 2016-17 will be an objectiv e question based MCQ entrance test for admission into MBBS BDS PG seats across the country. The second round is specifically targeted at students who were not taking AIPMT and were focused only on state lev el entrance exams like the Kerala Medical Entrance KEAM 2016 and exams of deemed priv ate medical univ ersities like Manipal MU-OET 2016. For all such students the opportunity will be giv en to apply for NEET again and take the exam 24th July 2016. NEET 2016 – Results The combined results will be released on August 30th 2016. The recent Supreme Court order makes it v ery clear that NEET will supersede all medical entrance exams conducted by state gov ernments priv ate and deemed univ ersities for medical dental and allied streams. So as of now the Karnataka CET COMEDK Kerala Entrance WB JEE Manipal entrance VIT entrance etc. stand superseded. Howev er in the next few days it is expected that many states and univ ersities will seek a rev iew petition in the Honourable Supreme Court and there are chances that the decision will be ov erturned. The medical aspirants who hav e been planning to focus on any of the abov e exams writing NEET now makes a lot of sense as confusion still prev ails. Howev er you should not worry too much about giv ing another exam as the nature of NEET will be pretty much similar to the other exams. You should only focus on studying and rev ising well before the exam and not worrying about which all entrances you need to take. What would be NEET Syllabus NEET follows the NCERT syllabus just like AIPMT . After the unification of curriculum across the states which happened a few years ago there is not much difference in the syllabus prescribed across v arious boards. Hence there is no need to be concerned about NEET Syllabus. Any curriculum you are studying be it Karnataka syllabus or Kerala syllabus or TN syllabus or CBSE syllabus almost 85 – 90 is all the same. For the rest 10-15 you can easily study for them before July 24 th as there is ample time Click here to download the NEET 2016 Syllabus What Will Happen Without State Level Entrance Exams States like T amil Nadu do not hav e an entrance exam for admission to their medical colleges. Admissions here happen solely based on 12th standard marks and hence an entrance exam would be a new concept for few of the students from TN. For these students also NEET will be mandatory. The syllabus of both NEET and board exams are v ery similar and for such students the only difference will be the mode of the exam. While NEET is an objectiv e MCQ exam students hav e been taking only subjectiv e exams. There may be some issues when it comes to mathematical subjects like Physics for which you need to train a bit. Enroll for a quick crash course with Byju’s or use Byju’s – The Learning App to get your approach to tackling MCQs right. For theory based subjects like Biology and Chemistry MCQs will be easier to tackle than writing long subjectiv e answers. Dress Code for NEET 2016 The same dress code as for AIPMT 2016 stands good. A candidate is allowed to wear only slippers or sandals and no shoes Only light colored clothes which are half sleev ed without big buttons or brooches are allowed Religious or customary dresses like hijab are allowed but you need to be at the v enue at 8:30 AM for frisking in such cases. As usual no mobiles calculators Bluetooth dev ices or any electronic dev ices are allowed. What Should The MBBS and BDS Aspirants Do Now We adv ise all the students to stop bothering about the NEET dates exam names or rounds and concentrate only on the preparation. Neither the pattern has changed nor the syllabus the only thing that is changed is the name So don’t make any changes to your preparation and go on doing what you hav e been doing. For people who will take NEET on July 24th 2016 ensure that you rev ise thoroughly and cov er the NCERT syllabus. We firmly recommend trying our Byju’s -the learning app which cov ers the syllabus and style of the exam to the tee. You can download the app from the iOS App Store or the Android Play Store and use it absolutely free for 15 days. After 15 days you will hav e to buy a full subscription which will be activ e until the end of your exams. +1 Recommend this on Google converted by W
