After being launched from ISRO's spaceport of Sriharikota on November 5, 2013 the Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) reached Mars on September 24, 2014

The Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), also known as Mangalyaan , is a Mars orbiter launched into Earth Orbit by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) What is Mars Orbiter Mission?

What are the objectives of this mission?:

What are the objectives of this mission ? As per, one of the main objectives of the first Indian mission to Mars is to develop the technologies required for design, planning, management and operations of an interplanetary mission.

Technological Objectives:

Technological Objectives Design and realisation of a Mars orbiter with a capability to survive and perform Earth bound manoeuvres, cruise phase of 300 days.
