Presentation Description

What Kinds of Equipment Do Certified Appraisers Need To Have? Well, that all depends on the services the certified jewelry appraiser will provide, although, of course an expert appraiser must have the basic equipment and gadget to appraise a piece of jewelry. These include calipers, diamond tweezers, a precision microscope, a lighted magnifier or diamond grading loupe, and some other special pieces of equipment. Most jewelers and appraisers prefer to clean the jewelry first before doing any testing, so a certified jewelry appraiser must also have some cleaning materials. Although not necessary, some certified jewelry appraisers also photograph the piece of jewelry they are checking, so investing in a good digital camera will be a good idea. And lastly, a certified jewelry appraiser must prepare a comprehensive appraisal document if requested by the client or if it is part of the service. A simple computer with a word processor and a printer will do. There are also watch and jewelry envelopes available where information about the appraisals could be written down. It is up to the certified jewelry appraiser and client if a document is necessary.
