Prevention DO NOT SMOKE! If you do smoke…STOP SMOKING! Avoid second hand smoke if you can -Test your home for radon -Avoid toxic chemicals at work -Eat more fruits and vegetables -Drink alcohol in moderation, if at all -Exercise daily By no means is there a way to prevent Lung Cancer, these are just methods to reduce the risk of getting it.

Wrap Up Points Lung cancer is a cancer of the lungs, with two types small cell and non-small cell. Older adults, people who are exposed to toxic chemicals, and people who smoke are at a greater risk. Smoking is a major risk factor to getting lung cancer. MRI, PET, and CAT scans are a few methods of testing for lung cancer. Although it cannot be prevented, not smoking and exercising more can decrease the chances of getting it.
