Qualified candidates include: : 

Qualified candidates include: Departments of international studies, international relations, political science, peace studies, and conflict resolution at local colleges and universities; N.G.O; International organizations and corporations; Government agencies, such as departments of state, foreign ministries, diplomatic corps, or other groups of civil servants; Former international volunteers; Mediation, arbitration, and dispute-resolution groups; Former Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholars who work with international issues, development, peace building, and conflict resolution, even if they currently live outside your district.

Club level Interested applicants should download Rotary World Peace Fellowship applications. Applicants should submit completed applications to their local Rotary club. Individual Rotary clubs initially screen and select fellowship applications to forward to the district level for competition. Club deadlines may be as early as March . District level Districts must allow sufficient time for interview and selection in order to meet the 1 July deadline for candidate submission to The Rotary Foundation. World level Each Rotary district submits candidates’ applications to the Foundation on or before 1 July. The world-level selection committee includes Trustees-appointed Rotarians and representatives from the university partners. The Foundation will inform candidates and districts about final selection decisions in November. Application process

Application Process and Eligibility : 

Application Process and Eligibility Each district must set its own deadline for clubs to submit applications to the district selection committee. District-endorsed 2010-2011 Rotary World Peace Scholarship applications are due to The Rotary Foundation by 1 July 2009. This timeline is recommended for promoting the scholarships and selecting candidates.

WE ARE SEEKING THE BEST AND BRIGHTEST IN YOUR COMMUNITY AND COMMUNITIES WORLDWIDE TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR FOUNDATION’S EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS.

THE NEW MEMBERS OF THE 2009 — 2010 CLASS INCLUDE: NISREEN ABDALLAH, West Bank, Palestine, age 26, is program director for youth leadership development for OneVoice Movement, which promotes a two-state solution for the Israeli and Palestinian conflict and trains Palestinian youth in conflict resolution.. Abdallah will attend the Rotary Center at the University of Bradford, England. ABU SIFIAN TAJ ELASSFIA, NYALA, Sudan, age 28, has worked with International Non-Government Organizations in Darfur to help generate income for people living in camps for internally displaced people (IDP). As founder of Youth Without Borders, he assists youth by making a link between war refugees and host communities in southern Sudan. He will attend the Rotary Center at Duke University , USA .

When the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN-ESCWA) was established in 1973, Arabic, English and French were adopted as its official and working languages. It was decided that Arabic should be the original language in which all resolutions are formulated and into which all technical and other documents issued in languages other than Arabic should be translated . 3- UN ESCWA
