Introduction:

Introduction Work Experience undertaken in Grennan’s Mill this is where the idea for the product started. Grennan’s puff cereal grains for the inclusion into rations for ruminant animals. Have an extensive background in Agriculture, having previously completed a BSc in Agricultural Science.

Product outline:

Product outline Brand name for this product is Island Cereals. A simple blend of roasted almonds, peanuts & fruit blueberries, cranberries, apple, & of course not forgetting the main ingredient organic puffed spelt. Resealable pack – 200g of product per unit. Ideally a smaller sized bag would be more suitable.

Costs per Unit Cost of manufacture plus all associated costs: €2.88 Wholesale price: €3.80 RRP: €3.99 Strategy to initially set the price slightly higher than competitor product prices. Lower price subsequently to gain more price-sensitive consumer.

What I would do different :

What I would do different Would like to expand range to include Naked Oat based products. Information from sensory analysis suggested product with different sweetness levels are required for different age groups. Sweeter product aimed at younger market: School lunch market.
