HCCA is your HMP (Healthy Maine Partnership):

We work primarily to help organizations become healthier places Reduce tobacco use and exposure Improve access to physical activity Improve nutrition Improve substance abuse prevention And get screened, stay healthy We serve18 towns in southern Kennebec County Our staff of 5 people work with schools, worksites, people-serving organizations, towns, and more… We are working on a Pilot Project HCCA is your HMP (Healthy Maine Partnership) 2/23/2011 2 Mental Health Public Health Pilot Project Nov.2010

Pilot Project ~ 3 Goals:

Increase access to Public Health Information for Everyone Increase knowledge that about 20% of all Maine people experience treatable levels of depression at some time & Depression is strongly linked to Chronic Diseases HCCA will provide presentations for Mental Health & Substance Abuse Treatment Providers Primary Care Practices & Health Centers Social Service Agencies Provide supports for healthier behaviors for physical & mental health! An Example of Supports Needed Few supports to quit smoking, high need:

Summary: Materials:

Lots of places that they can be displayed like: Goodwill Food Pantries Provider offices And many more BUT Materials do not address the behavioral health populations directly, not motivating for individuals to pick them up. Recommendations What might work:
