What is a WebQuest? :

What is a WebQuest ? Inquiry-oriented lesson format in which most or all of the information that learners work with comes from the web.

Who developed it? :

Who developed it? Dr. Bernie Dodge at San Diego State University in February, 1995. He wanted to provide his students with a way to use the internet to better suit their time while in school.

Uses of WebQuests in Education :

Uses of WebQuests in Education They keep students focused while online. WebQuests encourage students to think at higher levels. Promote cooperative learning through group projects and working together. Students will move at an accelerated pace. Time can be flexible surrounding the lessons.

Limitations of WebQuests They are not appropriate for every grade level The format of the lesson focuses on critical thinking skills rather than particular information. WebQuests require appropriate reading levels and research skills.
