ABOUT THE BOOK:

ABOUT THE BOOK

Slide 5:

WHAT WOULD GOOGLE DO????? This book is one part prophecy , one part thought experiment and is also a survival manual for many young minds like us. The author tries not to mine only the principles and practices behind the company’s success but he also shows their strategic imperatives , shifting attitudes and emerging opportunities in the internet age. Throughout the book the author showcase his findings of the company – which are counterintuitive, imaginary, practical and above all visionary allowing the readers to get a glimpse of how everything and everyone evolves in the Google era. The book is not actually what would google do ? The author wants us to place ourselves in the place of google and look at our lives from a different perspective – The way google sees it. The book is about reverse engineering google.

SO WHAT WOULD GOOGLE DO??:

SO WHAT WOULD GOOGLE DO??

Slide 7:

So is this an urgent question …. NO!!! But what does it mean anyway. We all know , Google is relatively the fasting growing company of the world. Accordingly , the author feels the 21 st century is an era of the internet age and Google is that one company that truly understands how to survive and prosper in this internet age. Whosoever thought that kids with cameras and internet connections could gather larger audiences than the cable networks , and loners with keyboards could bring down companies and politicians and that dropouts could build companies worth billions .

SO WHAT DID THEY DO THEN??:

SO WHAT DID THEY DO THEN??

Slide 9:

They didn’t follow the old rules. But Google didn’t become successful by breaking the rules either. They operated by the new rules of the new age developed among them . Such as – Customers are now in charge . Life is public . So is business. The mass market is dead. Customer collaboration is what creates a premium in today’s markets. The above are the things realized by Google , they understood the change brought by the internet. SO THEY MADE THAT CHANGE – and are now prospering and tasting great success.

Slide 11:

Now lets put aside Google for awhile and put ourselves in its position. We need to see the world in a different way form the rest of the world, make different decisions , decisions that would sometime make no sense and that is why its important to ask what would google do? The question asked in the title is about thinking in new ways , solving problems with new solutions , facing new challenges and grabbing newer opportunities We need to see the world the way google sees it- analysing and deconstructing its success and adopting their ideologies to our own careers and studies .

KNOW THE FACTS:

KNOW THE FACTS They may surprise you!!!

Slide 15:

Google had 71 % of share searches in the US and 87% of share searches in the UK itself in 2008 alone. Google’s ad revenue is higher than all the British tabloids combined together. About a third of google’s revenue is estimated to be at 20 billion $ which is not earned at google.com but at other sites all over the internet. Gmail had a rare dysfunction in 2009 , reminding us that even google was not perfect.

CONCLUSION:

CONCLUSION The book is a real Mind opener and it tells us about google Technology and its rules and it helps us See the world the Way google sees it.

Slide 17:

I have also learnt that other than adopting new thinking and new ideologies it is important that I be searchable. Because if im not searchable – I wont be found.
