Tourism Industry in India : 

Tourism Industry in India Tourism industry in India is on a great boom at the moment. India has tremendous potential to become a major global tourist destination and Indian tourism industry is exploiting this potential to the hilt. In the year 2002, the Government of India announced a New Tourism Policy to give boost to the tourism sector. The policy is built around the 7-S Mantra of Swaagat (welcome), Soochanaa (information), Suvidhaa (facilitation), Surakshaa (security), Sahyog (cooperation), Sanrachnaa (infrastructure) and Safaai (cleanliness).

Problems development in tourism of India? : 

Problems development in tourism of India? Non Implementation Of Legislative Law Untrained Guides & Shepras Lack of Infrastructure Roads,Flyovers ,Telecommunication and Virtual Network Lack of Facilities To Tourist like Fresh Water,Waiting Room,Clock Room,Food & Beverages Tourist often faces fraud ,cheating,thefts by small and medium gangs. Communication and culture problem. Tourism development projects are usually development by Indian Government without any discussion with community leaders and they are dumped to follow the ineffective projects blindly. Lack of Tourism Information to both the traveler as well as the Community members there are ample of sites that can be developed but due to either ignorance or negligence of lack of initiative they are not promoted.

Mistrust of local people in Tourism Industry India by and large is more dominated by agriculture sector. Lack of Financial support. Poor Administration & management. Public does not know the culture,language of other countries but also it is unaware of the culture language of other region in India.Absence of interpreter is often seen in tourism destinations. Improper Marketing and tourism promotion.

Measures taken by indian government for the problems faced by tourism industry Tourists with a visa permit for over 180 days have to obtain a Registration certificate and a Residential Permit. Submit the Certificate of registration while leaving the country. Carry attested copies of your visa, passport, and other important travel documents. Post offices open from 10:00 a.m to 4:30 p.m on weekdays. Carry packaged mineral water on your tour to India. While embarking on an India tour, obtain a yellow fever vaccination certificate

Strategies adopted by the Govt. to make tourism better The Caravan tourism policy announced by the Ministry of Tourism is aimed to promote and facilitate and incentivise development of tourism. This ‘sustainable’ tourism route has been adopted by the Ministry of Tourism in the innovative Rural Tourism Project, by strengthening the disadvantaged but skilled rural artisan communities through support to capacity building and vernacular infrastructure, while laying emphasis on the role of women.
