INTRODUCTION... Pollution of environment. Alarming raise in global warming. Causes : Green-House gases. Depletion of natural source of energy. Need of alternate solutions. The MICROALGAE LAMP seems to be an promising future rescue.

Cont... The concept has been developed by Dr. Pierre Calleja , biochemist based from France. He has been studying about these algae for over two decades. MICROALGAE : Single celled algae.

ABOUT MICROALGAE LAMP...:

ABOUT MICROALGAE LAMP... Not only produces light, but consumes CO 2 . A Microalgae lamp can consume 1 ton CO 2 in just about 1 year, where as a tree does it in its whole lifetime. Produces light and cleans the air.

CONSTRUCTION...:

CONSTRUCTION... It consist of tube algae-filled water. Light and battery arrangements. Algae cultivation chamber. Water and CO 2 inlet. Oxygen vent.

WORKING PROCEDURE...:

WORKING PROCEDURE... Algae produces energy through photosynthesis by combining sunlight, H 2 O, and CO 2 . That light energy is converted into chemical energy and stored as bonds of sugars (Carbohydrates). This process takes place in the chloroplasts. Water is split into oxygen, protons and electrons in presence of sunlight. Synthesizing of sugars occurs and exited electrons generate the tiny electrical current.

CONT... After going through certain processes we obtain a fine rich green coloured syrup type algae solution. The solution is added to water in a canister which is connected to the batteries for storage of that energy.
