Established : will soon be established in the locality. Scaling: A fter successful testing , we will need sponsorship for widespread distribution either from the government or private companies

Approach To have a device that will be given to specially challenged people and distributed with the help of government or private sponsors and social media and mobility so that price of the device is around 150 $ and within the reach of common masses

Innovation Description :

Innovation Description This innovation requires a device that has inbuilt camera for example a mobile or a tablet since these are commonly available and portable devices The device inbuilt camera captures the hand gestures or sign which are normally used by specially challenged people . Since sign language is accepted worldwide we a common set of library files where these sign language symbols are defined with their corresponding meaning written in text When a person makes a sign in front of the camera , the hand area is processed by image processing mechanism detecting points on the finger or using infrared technology

This processed image gets corresponding meaning to the sign language from the library converts it into text form and using audio API , the text will be spoken by inbuilt voice assistant enabling other person what a person is trying to convey Similarly we a sentence is spoken by normal person, keywords are extracted from the sentence, from this keyword , we generate a corresponding sequence of sign as a visual image that can be seen and understood by a deaf person This is how we want to bridge communication gap between normal people and people with special needs

Compelling need for the innovation This innovation will help specially challenged people to gain confidence , feel independent . They can lead a comparably normal life . They won’t feel as if they are out of this world . Maximum Points: 20

Impact This innovation will have a huge impact on people with special needs. This innovation will be a huge success since this type of user friendly , cost effective design software is not available at present in the market . This will sustain in market for the time when people wants to use it, since it will always have it’s use at some point of time , we expect that this remains in the market for a long time Maximum Points: 30
