Thanks so much for sharing your power points! Great job! I teach science in East Texas.

My school's computer has blocked this site. Is there a way, in the future that you could post it on Teacher Tube? Thanks again for great work :-)

Ocean and Land Temperatures :

Ocean and Land Temperatures Created by C. Bonhamgregory

Ocean and Land Temperatures :

Ocean and Land Temperatures Land warms up faster than water. Land cools down faster than water. Water warms up slower than land. Water cools down slower than land.

Ocean and Land Temperatures :

Ocean and Land Temperatures Three questions to think about based on those facts and as you view the following maps… Why does that create wind along the shoreline? How does that affect the weather and climate of cities that are located along an ocean’s coastline? How does the temperatures change in the cities of Portland and Seattle (close to the ocean) vs. Havre and Boise (far from the ocean)?

Discussion :

Discussion Based on everything you know and what you have learned in class, let’s discuss the following questions…

Discussion :

Discussion What causes the movement of air? What causes differences in air pressure? Why does warm air rise? Why does cold air sink?

Discussion :

Discussion Do different surfaces of the Earth absorb the same (or different) amounts of energy from the Sun? How does the ocean affect the weather and climate of cities that are located along it’s coastline?
