What things are you now able to express in Spanish that you have learned in Spanish II ?:

What things are you now able to express in Spanish that you have learned in Spanish II ? In this class, I was mainly able to increase my knowledge with Spanish vocabulary and learn more about sentence structures and grammar. I learned how to write about school, community, food, shopping, etc. in greater detail than before. I also learned more about the preterite or past tense and the imperfect tense. Most importantly, this class has helped me a lot with catching up with Spanish pronunciations and what Spanish-speakers are actually saying while in a conversation. Its amazing how fast a person can grasp so much about a language.

What differences have you seen between the Spanish language and your native language? :

What differences have you seen between the Spanish language and your native language? There are many differences in both languages, but each language is unique in its own way. Like in English, some words have a totally different pronunciations but in Spanish, once a person understands the pronunciations its easy to guess how a word will sound, at least for me. Also, conjugation of verbs is different in Spain than English. In Spain we have to conjugate a verb based on the tense of the subject such as the past, present, imperfect, etc.

What did you find interesting and exciting about the Spanish culture?:

What did you find interesting and exciting about the Spanish culture? I found many things interesting about the Spain culture. First of all, the food. It is delicious, especially the tamale! I usually tell my neighbors to make something for me. I also like how Spaniards have a very laid back lifestyle compared to others in United States. They like to take their siesta every afternoon and I wish I had time for it here. I also like the Spanish culture as a whole. People seem to love socializing and going out places together as family or friends.

What do you hope to learn if you continue to study the Spanish language?:

What do you hope to learn if you continue to study the Spanish language? If I continued studying the Spanish language (which I would love to), I would hope to learn more about the culture and practice more on sentence structures. I am still a bit slow at sentence structures when I am trying to talk to friends who speak Spanish. I would hope to master this trait. Also I want to learn new vocabulary and conjugative verbs to expand my knowledge of Spanish.

We have learned elements of a language in a different teaching/learning style than you may be used to. Talk about your experience with learning Spanish in an online class.:

We have learned elements of a language in a different teaching/learning style than you may be used to. Talk about your experience with learning Spanish in an online class. There are pros and cons of taking an online class. These days more schools, colleges and other educational systems are preferring online classes than regular classes. Taking an online class gives me more flexibility as I was usually busy during summer and whenever I could find time, I would try to learn more material and complete my assignments in Spanish. I really liked the feedback and how I had the flexibility to choose dates for RLC’s that fits my everyday schedule. This way I can actually enjoy my work and not really want to rush through it. But then with online classes I am missing a lot of collaboration with my peers who are taking the same class. Some assignments can be harder for someone who doesn’t know how to use technology well than someone who is an expert in it.

What did you like about the course?  What did you not like and/or could be improved? :

What did you like about the course?  What did you not like and/or could be improved? I mostly like the course and I don’t really have any complains about it. One thing I did not like was that we were very rushed throughout this course because we didn’t had much time to complete it. So some days there was a lot of cramming of vocabulary and irregular verbs. I loved how all the assignments were at the end of each week. This allowed me to work a little less or more depending on my daily schedule, so I had more flexibility with time. Also, I loved the extra credit because in my school there are no extra credits  They really boost my grade up! I also liked how we had RLC’s and Cultural Café sessions so that students and teachers could collaborate and interact with each other through the course. One thing I felt that could be improved was having the extra credit episodes evenly distributed in every module.

What things did you do that helped you learn Spanish in this course?  What things can you do to improve your own Spanish learning in the future?:

What things did you do that helped you learn Spanish in this course?  What things can you do to improve your own Spanish learning in the future? I used Quizlet as a great resource to teach me vocabulary in this Spanish course. It was like making electronic index cards and it also had a button to pronounce each word in Spanish. I also loved how there were questions that were recorded by voice in many quizzes. I feel that it really helped me catch up with Spanish words and their pronunciations. And finally, feedback from the teachers. Oh I loved them! They really helped me understand my mistakes than just simply giving me a grade for an assignment. I was able to understand where I was wrong in each assignment and how I could have corrected it. I can improve my Spanish learning in the future by evenly distributing time every week so I don’t have to do everything on Thursdays and Fridays as I usually did in this course. Also, if there are extra credit I would love to take the opportunity to have all of them completed to get the best grade and master the content in class.

What things did your teacher do to help you with your learning?  Was there anything that your teacher didn't do that would have helped you? :

What things did your teacher do to help you with your learning?  Was there anything that your teacher didn't do that would have helped you?  I loved how my teacher gave me feedback and resources to help me in this class. I really enjoyed having a teacher like Sra. Hamlett. She graded everything on time and was always consistent with excellent feedback. She was always very nice to me and answered every one of my questions. I didn’t felt left behind in this class and I was glad that she though of me as a great student. I am being totally honest, Sra. Hamlett, there wasn’t anything you didn’t do that would have helped me. I seriously don’t have any complains from you at all. You are the best. Thank you for all of your help and support and I hope I will see you in Spanish III or IV 
