Career Information. Career After 16 games in an immensely promising debut season in 2006, Thomas established himself as a key player in the Collingwood side and a genuine star of the future with an excellent 2007 season, in which he played every game, including all three finals, averaging just under 16 possessions per outing. Always dangerous around goals, Thomas played mainly across half forward while also gaining some invaluable midfield experience. A rising star nominee from 2006 and also the club's best first year player in that year, Thomas is already one of the most popular players with Magpie fans. 2008 was a transitional year for Thomas learning how to play a role centred on the midfield while keeping intact his forward threat. The following season Thomas was considered a true utility playing in various positions across 16 games. In 2010 it was his consistency which improved his overall game, 26 matches averaging a career high in disposals was a mighty effort. He kicked an early fourth quarter goal in the premiership to effectively seal the match for the Magpies. 2010 season Played all 26 matches averaging a career high number of disposals (24.0) and tackles (3.5). Was extremely consistent over the season and shined brightest through the finals. He averaged 26.5 disposals, eight marks and kicked one goal in each of the four matches. In his fifth season of footy showed he was capable of running out games and having a four-quarter impact. Notched his 100th game midway through the season. It was his fourth-quarter goal in the grand final replay which extended the lead out to 53-points and sealed the win for a large contingent of the Magpie Army.
