Mesopotamia Literally the land between the rivers. 3500 BCE distinct city states rise up near the Persian Gulf in between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. Two Rivers is different than one.

Mesopotamian Gods Polytheistic = Worship of numerous deities Henotheistic =Recognition of multiple gods, but the exaltation and worship of one god over all others. Major Deities : Anu , Ea , Enlil , Ishtar, Marduk , Shamash, Apsu and Tiamat

Genesis 1:

Genesis 1 In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters. Creatio ex Materia not Creatio ex Nihilo.

Genesis 1.6 and the Enuma Elish And God said, “Let there be a dome in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.” “When sweet and bitter mingled together, no reed was plaited, no rushes muddied the water, the gods were nameless, natureless , futureless, then from Apsu and Tiamat , in the waters the gods were created, in the water silt precipitated.”
