My workshop did not go well. My students won’t listen. All these people keep coming in my room to observe. I’m tired. I’m hungry. I’m broke. My hot water heater is broken and Calgon can’t even take me away.”

Everybody’s Searching For A Hero : 

Everybody’s Searching For A Hero

People need ... someone to look up to. : 

People need ... someone to look up to. Your students look up to you. You are their hero.

I never found anyone who fulfilled my needs. : 

I never found anyone who fulfilled my needs. You have the potential to fulfill the needs of 20+ students X the number of years you teach.

A lonely place to be, and so I learned to depend on me. : 

A lonely place to be, and so I learned to depend on me. Students have fears and are lonely. You calm their fears. Students need someone to depend on. They depend on you.

Write down who you were last year at this time. Did you discover that you have changed more than you thought? Which person did you like the best?

Make it personal, attainable, measurable, visible, and expandable See the big picture and how you contribute to it. Many people get so caught up in the task of the moment that they cannot see the importance of what they do.
