With a worldwide movement in the culinary world of going back to the roots slow cooking seems to be the next wave. First Impressions We chose to dine at the place on a lazy Sunday afernoon and were greeted by the sight of high ceiling rustic décor done up in brown and warm ambience as we entered. Located in the heart of Koramangala it is the newest venture of Gautam Krishnankutty and Padmakumar Pillai. What We Ate First up was the amuse bouche which came with creamy beetroot borani - an Iranian dip with the chef’s version of smoked beetroot cumin garlic and Greek yogurt topped with sesame seeds and peanut. It was served with crispy chilli lavash cracker which added a wonderful textural contrast. We then proceeded to the Charcuterie Platter which came with thinly sliced Country Ham Soppressata – Italian dry salami Spicy Chorizo and Five Spiced Smoked Mackerel. We especially loved the Spicy Chorizo which came with a fruity note. Next up was the Smoked Bone Marrow – smoked and roasted bone marrow with sea salt and olive oil served with onion marmalade sour dough soldiers and cornichons. The rich buttery marrow had us hooked from the frst spoonful. We then indulged in the Mac and Cheese – baked macaroni with gruyere cheese. The highlight of the meal however was the 47 Corn Mufn – Southern American cornmeal and egg savoury mufn served with honey and butter. The mildly sweet mufn teamed with the rich honey butter made it dish worth going back for. For desserts we chose the Flan with Burnt Caramel – condensed milk eggs and vanilla with orange brandy sauce and honey comb. The tangy citrus along with the burnt caramel made for a lovely balance of favours. We also tried the Flourless Chocolate Cake – decadent dark chocolate cake with milk chocolate mousse and chocolate pop rock soil. Ideal for the sweet-toothed the pop rock soil added a fun element to the classic.
