Slide 3:

Slide 4:

How people tried to attain to live a good life or to attain eternal life? 3. Through doing rituals

Slide 5:

How people tried to attain to live a good life or to attain eternal life? 4. Following the ten commandments

Slide 6:

Can we completely follow the 10 commandments? Exodus 20:3-17 (1)You shall have no other gods before me. (2)You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above... You shall not bow down to them or serve them... (3)You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain (4)Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy... (5)Honor your father and your mother (6)You shall not murder (7)You shall not commit adultery (8)You shall not steal (9)You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor (10)You shall not covet

Slide 7:

How about being angry? Matthew 5:21-22 "You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.' But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, 'You fool!' will be liable to the hell of fire.

Slide 8:

The Jews used four kinds of punishments, before their government was taken away by Herod: hanging, beheading, stoning, and burning. It is burning that Christ meant, because burning was the greatest punishment; (1599 Geneva Bible Translation Notes) 1 John 3:15 Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

Slide 9:

How about adultery? Matthew 5:27-28 "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery.' But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Slide 10:

James 2:10 If you obey every law except one, you are still guilty of breaking them all. What God says about our condition? Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

Slide 11:

MAN GOD SIN MAN’S PROBLEM Man has a SIN problem that SEPARATES from GOD.

Slide 12:

What then are the consequences of our sins? Romans 6:23 ESV For the wages of sin is death... Revelation 21:8 ESV But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death."

Slide 13:

Why God would do this to us? Nahum 1:3b The LORD will never let the guilty go unpunished. Deuteronomy 32:4 ...for all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is he. Psalm 7:11-13 God is an honest judge. He is angry with the wicked every day. If a person does not repent, God will sharpen his sword; he will bend and string his bow. He will prepare his deadly weapons and shoot his flaming arrows.

Slide 14:

Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He does not hear.

Slide 15:

But wait... Exodus 34:6-7 ...The LORD, the LORD God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth; who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished...

Slide 16:

How then can we reconcile to God who is our creator? John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Slide 17:

John 14:6 Jesus said "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me". 1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit

Slide 18:

Romans 5:6 For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. Hebrews 9:28 also Christ died once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him.

Slide 19:

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?"

Slide 20:

How can we be sure that Jesus is the Savior ? 1 Corinthians 15:3-6 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred . . .

Slide 21:

Romans 1:4 and by being raised from the dead he was proved to be the mighty Son of God, with the holy nature of God himself.

John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?"

Slide 28:

What then should we do now that we know Jesus is the one who paid for our sins we deserved and He is the only one who can give us salvation? Galatians 2:16 But we know that God accepts only those who have faith in Jesus Christ. No one can please God by simply obeying the Law. So we put our faith in Christ Jesus, and God accepted us because of our faith.

Slide 29:

Ephesians 2:8-10 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Slide 30:

What then is the correct formula to have salvation? a.) Faith in Jesus + Good Works = Salvation b.) Faith in Jesus + Nothing = Salvation…then will result into good works Good works are not the means to salvation, rather they are by-products of your salvation.

Slide 31:

Ephesians 2:8-10 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Slide 32:

1 Peter 2:24 and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.

Thank You that one day, I will go to You in heaven. From this day on, I will follow and obey You. Amen.

He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
