What if Chiang Kai Shek wins the Chinese Revolution?:

Presentation By: Teresa Mason Ger Yang What if Chiang Kai Shek wins the Chinese Revolution?

Background:

The Chinese Revolution began in the early 19 th century. Issues that caused the Revolution were disputes on whether or not China would become Capitalist or Communist. There were 2 leaders named Moa Zedong and Chiang Kai Shek . Moa Zedong chose to be Communist, but Chiang Kai Shek wanted to be Capitalist. Chiang Kai Shek lost the revolution, but what if he didn’t… Background Chiang Kai Shek Moa Zedong

China Becomes Capitalist:

If Chiang Kai Shek wins, China would become capitalist. This will happen because the United States helped Chiang Kai Shek financially with the Chinese Revolution. So taking this into consideration, China will convert to Capitalism like the United States. Evidence : The united States helped Chiang Kai Shek with the Chinese Revolutionary war, financially. China’s Would become more urban:

China would become more urbanized or industrialized at an earlier point in time. As you may notice, China depends heavily on agriculture during this time period. That being said if he wins, the United States will help them industrialize there country like they helped South Korea and Japan. Evidence: The United States would help China as they helped South Korea Source Doc http ://usforeignpolicy.about.com/od/countryprofile1/ China’s Would become more urban Urbanized: More technology, Modern building structures, ect .

Jobs would increase in the United States :

http://quizlet.com/11771505/chinas-role-in-the-cold-war-flash-cards/ Jobs would increase in the United States Considering the fact that China is our main manufacturing resource, we have no need to spend money to build factories , which decreases the number of jobs for Americans because we can get everything from China at a cheaper price. However if China becomes Capitalist they would be forced to pay minimum wage to all of there workers, causing the prices of the items to be equivalent to what they are here in the United States. Therefore if prices are the same the United States could just build factories here causing the number of jobs for Americans to increase. Evidence: The United States did not have any motive to overthrow China More Factories For Americans

What Would Today Be Like..:

If Chiang Kai Shek won the Chinese Revolution, China and the United States would become allies, for The United States did not have any motive to overthrow China, which would make manufacturing easier. Perhaps, the United States would be in less debt, or we would be able to trade other manufacturing goods instead of What Would Today Be Like..
