Did you get a basic understanding of the film?:

Did you get a basic understanding of the film? After showing my first rough cut to 10 people I found that a vast majority of them did not know what was happening as the lay out was not clear.

PowerPoint Presentation:

Three people said that they had got a basic understanding of the film, where a seven people said that they did not. When I asked why, a majority of the people that did not get a basic understanding of the film they said that they thought that Alex and Jack were the same person, but one good and one bad. As this is not what the film is about I had to make some drastic changes to give the idea of the plot away without ruining the film for the audience.

Sounds and Music:

Sounds and Music A lot of people had also asked about music and what type I would be using. In this first rough cut I had not found any music, which is why the audience did not understand what part of the film is the action shots and what part of the film is the shots of the couple in love. Also a lot of people said there was too many muffled sounds or other noises that made it hard for some important pieces of speech to be important. By doing this rough cut now I was able to sort out the things wrong with my film and change them for the better.

Genre difficulties:

Genre difficulties I also asked my audience what genre they thought my film was. A lot of people had some confusion as to what the genre of my film actually was.

Genre:

Genre When I asked the audience why they thought it was an Action/ Adventure, a lot of people said that it was because of the locations, like on top of the building, and that the cuts between each scene was to rapid. As this is my first rough cut I had not added any transitions or filmed the rest of my trailer. By adding transitions, hopefully I will be able to create a film that it is recognised as a thriller.
