HARDWARE COMPONENTS OF OUR COMPUTER SYSTEM

Slide3:

Do you know What is H A R D W A R E

Slide4:

Hardware is any part of the computer you can touch and feel, e.g. Keyboard, printer, monitor, speakers and mouse.

Slide5:

C OMPUTER S YSTEM A computer system consists of several parts

Slide6:

C ATEGORIES O F C OMPUTER H ARDWARE INPUT Whatever data is enter into the computer is called input. For example, your name, address, telephone, etc are data that you enter into the computer. An input devices helps you enter data into computer. The keyboard, mouse, joystick and scanner are input devices.

Slide7:

PROCESS Central Processing Unit (CPU) is the main part of the computer and is used to process data. It is known as the brain of the computer. For example, if you want to add two numbers, like 6 and 7, enter these numbers and instructions into the computer through an input devices like the keyboard. The computer will process this and give the result – 13.

Slide8:

Floppy Disks Hard disk STORAGE After processing, the computer stores the data in a storage device. The hard disk and the floppy disk are the main storage devices in a computer.

Slide9:

Printers OUTPUT We get output through the output devices. These devices display information on the screen, create printed copies or generate sound. Output devices include monitor, printer and speakers.

Slide10:

H ARD D ISK Hard disk is a storage devices in which the computer stores data. Hard disk is also called hard drive or fixed hard drive . Hard disk is one of the main part of computer because all your important data is store from gigabyte to terabyte of data. The hard drive magnetically stores data on a stack of rotating disk called platters.

Slide11:

Hard disks can save time because accessing files on a hard disk is almost 20 times faster than on diskettes. Furthermore, users find that accessing files from hard disks more convenient than handling diskettes.
