Why Early Childhood Education is Important

Slide 2:

There are varying opinions about the necessity of early childhood education, or preschool, for children. Studies have shown, however, that children who experience a structured early childhood education are better prepared for the rest of their schooling and experience other benefits as well. Education During Formative Years During these early years of a child’s life, their brain is growing and changing quickly. It is building its basic cognitive skills such as math, science, and language. By receiving a well-rounded education, the child will have a better intellectual foundation that will be helpful as they enter formal education.

Slide 3:

Increased Preparedness for Formal Schooling Studies have found that due to the education received during these formative years, children who attend preschool are more likely to do well throughout their educational career and are more likely to graduate from high school. Socialization Preschool can also teach children valuable socialization skills that will help them to adjust to formal schooling when they enter kindergarten. These children are better able to interact with their classmates and teachers, and in turn gain more from their education.
