Benefits of Networking Sharing Devices saves money. E.g. one printer for one section. Licensed Sites. E.g. E-mail, Instant Messenger and shared Drivers. Good Security. All able to share Internet connection. All have their own space on the file server. User’s files are backed up via file server, in case of a Data lost.

Slide 25:

The Star Network: In a star network each device on the network has its own cable that connects to a switch or hub. A hub sends every packet of data to every device, whereas a switch only sends a packet of data to the destination device. A set of computers connected together in order to share information or programs. A quantity of information that is sent from one computer to another by network or on the internet. Device used to connect computers and other network devices in the purpose of forming a network or a hub. The most important area in the star network were all the devices are centered. Information in the form of text, numbers, or symbols that can be used by or stored in a computer.

Reasons For Picking Star Network? :

Reasons For Picking Star Network? We wanted to focus on the salesman (Ibrahim), we have noted that he moves around a lot to sell the product, so a Star Network as we know, each computer has its own cable connected to the computer so when Ibrahim goes off office, the network will not be disrupted or failed. Other reasons that makes this network so beneficial for Dr. Ahmed & his employees are; It is so reliable in other words, if one of the cables fail the rest will continue to work normally. Secondly, this network ‘s performance level is high in a way that collision of data is not encountered. However there were some aspects that let us to neglect the other networks; E.g. Bus Network: Main cable fail all computer fail, if the number of computers increases they will start to perform more slowly. E.g. Ring Network: Main cable faulty network damages for al devices.
