The final selection is made by a prestigious committee of technology and business leaders (the NEXT100 jury) who evaluate applicants on career accomplishments, professional expertise, skills and potential to be a CIO. Shri N P Sanodia, AGM (IT), Smt Deepa Prabakar Sr. DGM(IT), Smt Megha Rastogi Sr. Manager (IT) and Shri Satish Asnani, Sr. Manager (IT) from Information & Technology Services Department, BHEL, have won the prestigious Next 100 CIO award 2016. They were felicitated by Shri Kamal Nath, CEO, Sify Technologies at a glittering function at Pune on 2-3 December. Shri A M V Yugandhar , Executive Director, BHEL, presented the trophy and citation, in the presence of Shri Sanjeev Gupta, General Manager (P&D,IT) and Shri Mukesh Arora, General Manager (Corp Digital Transformation) on 5th December at Bhopal.

CSI IT Innovation & Excellence Awards Information & Technology services department (ITS) department of BHEL has won 3 prestigious IT Innovation & Excellence Awards in the Annual Technology Convention of Computer of Society of India (CSI), held at Mumbai, on 14-15th October 2016. Technology Sabha PSU IT Award Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited Bhopal won the prestigious ‘Technology Sabha PSU IT Award’ in Enterprise Application Category. Governance Now India PSU IT Casebook Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited Bhopal won the Governance Now, India's premier governance and public policy magazine from Sri Adhikari Brothers (SAB) TV group, has presented PSU IT CASEBOOK in which BHEL Bhopal IT Project has been included and appreciated on 14th October 2016 at Hotel Imperial New Delhi which will be a limited-edition coffee table book compiling the best of PSUs ICT Practices. Tata Crucible Corporate Business Quiz :

Tata Crucible Corporate Business Quiz Vivek Pathak, DGM (IT), and Debasish Mandal, DGM (TXS), representing BHEL, won the Regional round of the Tata Crucible Corporate Quiz, held on 07th August 2016, after competing with around 85 teams from Central India. The Team won a cash award of Rs. 75000. This is for the consecutive Third time that this team has brought laurels for the organization Last year, In 2015, they were the Runners Up and in 2014, they had won the Quiz.

QCI-DL Shah GOLD Award -2016:

QCI-DL Shah GOLD Award -2016 BHEL Bhopal wins the prestigious QCI-DL Shah National Gold Award of Quality. Shri Hari K Taneja Trustee DL SHAH TRUST and Shri Adil Zainulbhai Chairman (QCI), presented the award to BHEL Bhopal during the 11th National Quality Conclave held in Hotel Le- Meridian New Delhi on August 20, 2016.

In TOP 10 finalists in the IT Olympiad :

In TOP 10 finalists in the IT Olympiad Monika Aggarwal (Engineer / IT) was one of the top ten finalists in the IT Olympiad conducted by the Computer Society of India and Rotary Club of Pune Pride. She was shortlisted from amongst 13500 contestants from all over India. The Olympiad was sponsored by NASSCOM, Persistent and several other major IT firms. The top ten finalists were selected after 3 online rounds and Skype interview. The Quiz consisted of questions related to Information Technology and covered concepts like Software Engineering, Database, Website Designing and the latest IT technologies. The finale of Olympiad was held in Pune on 27th February, 2016 at COEP (College of Engineering Pune) campus. The participants for the finale were the top ten IT professionals shortlisted from all over India. The guests of honor for the finale were Shri Arun Nathani, Founder, CEO and Managing Director of Cybage Software Pvt. Ltd and Dr Sachin Lodha, CTO, TCS Innovation labs. Monika Aggarwal was the only professional candidate serving in PSU and was congratulated by Shri A M V Yugandhar , Executive Director, BHEL, and Shri Sanjeev Gupta, General Manager (P&D,IT), on her outstanding achievement.The achievements were published in newspapers.

Best Women Executive:

Best Women Executive Smt Megha Rastogi, Sr. Manager (ITS) received Best Women employee (Consolation prize) in Executive category amongst all PSU under the Aegsis of SCOPE . The award was given by Honorable Minister of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises , Shri Anant G. Geete on the 25th National Convention of the Forum of Women in Public Sector (WIPS) at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on 12th Feb ‘2015.

National e-Governance Award 2014-15:

National e-Governance Award 2014-15 Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) Bhopal has been conferred with the prestigious National e-Governance Gold award by Government of India during the 18th National Conference on e-Governance held at Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The award was given for the ‘SAMPARK’ project, developed by Information Services and Technology department (ITS), BHEL Bhopal. In a first-of-its-kind initiative, Prime Minister Narendra Modi used Twitter to inaugurate and address the inaugural session of the 2-day conference. The award was presented by Chief Minister of Gujarat, Smt Anandiben Patel, in the presence of Shri D J Pandian, Chief Secretary, Government of Gujarat, Shri Alok Rawat, Secretary, DARPG-GoI, Shri R S Sharma, Secretary, DeitY-GoI and Shri R Chandrashekar, President, NASSSOM.

Skoch Foundation Award 2014-15:

Skoch Foundation Award 2014-15 BHEL Bhopal has been conferred with the prestigious Skoch Foundation ‘Order-of-Merit’ Award for the Project - 'Integrated Real Time Quality Management System’ as a quality improvement initiative at BHEL Bhopal. The award has been received by ITS division at the Skoch Summit .Shri D.K.Dikshit GM (Quality ), Dr. Mukesh Arora AGM (IT & Comm) and Shri S N Shrivastava Sr.Manager (IT) received the award.

9th NASSCOM-DSCI Annual Information Security Summit:

9th NASSCOM-DSCI Annual Information Security Summit ITS, BHEL Bhopal received the “Finalist” certificate, during the 9th NASSCOM-DSCI Annual Information Security Summit. DSCI Excellence Award are given to the organizations and individuals who have taken strategic, proactive and innovative security and privacy efforts to help the organization address information security risks and enable the organization to protect its business critical processes & data. Award for Excellence in e-Governance initiatives in MP:

Award for Excellence in e-Governance initiatives in MP IT department of BHEL, Bhopal has been declared as Winner for Excellence Award in e-Governance initiatives in Madhya Pradesh for 2012-13, in the category – “The best application following best-practices of software development”, for the project “Online Recruitment system”, developed by Informatics Center (IFX) department, BHEL, Bhopal. The award was presented by Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Hon. Chief Minister, Madhya Pradesh, to Shri S R Prasad, Executive Director and Shri Sanjeev Gupta, General Manager (P&D,IT) , BHEL, Bhopal, in the presence of Hon’ble Minister Information Technology Shri Bhupendra Singh and Shri Anthony JC Desa, Chief Secretary, at a glittering function at Bhopal. The Winner prize comprised of a cash award of Rs. 1 lakh and a memento and certificate The function was organized by Department of Information Technology, Government of Madhya Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh Agency for Promotion of Information Technology (MAP IT).

CSI National Award 2013:

CSI National Award 2013 BHEL Bhopal has won the prestigious CSI National Award for Excellence in IT 2013 in the category of Business Collaboration solutions: Banking & Finance. The award was conferred by Mr. J Satyanarayana, Secretary, Department of Electronics & Information Technology, GoI in the 48th CSI Annual Convention held at Visakhapatnam (A.P.). Mr. S V Raghavan, President of CSI and Scientific Secretary to the Union Government, Mr. Anil Srivastava, Joint Secretary to the Ministry of Civil Aviation & Chairperson & convenor CSI Awards and other senior officials of Government of India, private companies & CSI were also present during the Award ceremony. The award was received on behalf of BHEL, Bhopal by Dr. Mukesh Arora Head (IT & Comm), and Team members, Mr. Vivek Pathak, Sr. Manager - IT and Rajneesh Rai, Sr. Engineer - IT. The first prize comprised of a cash award of Rs. 1 lakh and a memento and certificate.

National e-Governance Award 2012-13:

National e-Governance Award 2012-13 BHEL has been conferred upon the prestigious National e-Governance Gold Award of Government of India in the category – “Innovative use of ICT by PSUs for Customer Benefits”, for the project “Integrated system for Online Generation of Electrical Specifications for Transformers”, developed by Informatics Center (IFX) department, BHEL Bhopal. The award was presented by Shri Ashok Gehlot, Hon. Chief Minister, Rajasthan in the presence of Sh. V. Narayanasamy , Union Minister of State of Personal and Public Grievances & Pensions and MoS in the Prime Minister's Office and other top Government officials, at the 16th National e-Governance Conference organized jointly by DARPG, Department of Information and Technology (both Government of India) and the Department of Information and Technology, Rajasthan, at Jaipur. The Award was received on behalf of BHEL, by Shri Anjan Dasgupta, ex-ED(CS&IT), Shri Dheeman Sen, ex-GM(P&D,IT,Feeders), Shri S K Mahajan, DGM(TRE), Shri Arun Khare, Sr.Manager(TRE) and Vivek Pathak, Sr. Manager(IT).
