Highway of Heroes
|
|
The Highway of Heroes is Hwy 401 in Ontario. When the bodies of soldiers killed in Afghanistan are brought home they arrive at the air force base in Trenton. They are then transported via individual hearses along the highway to Toronto where the Chief Coroner's Office is located. Each time a soldier comes home, the overpasses and sideroads for the 250 mile drive are crowded with people, police, firefighters of all ages as they give the most deserved recognition to our soldiers
