Akhmed Bilalov Krasnaya Polyana
Krasnaya Polyana is one of the most expensive and popular winter ski resorts in Russia. Located 40 km away from the Black Sea coast and from the city of Sochi, it is, nevertheless, included in the Adler District of Sochi. Krasnaya Polyana was the center of the Alpine cluster of venues for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, and includes venues for skiing, biathlon, luge, ski-jumping and snowboarding. In 2004 it was decided to create a modern resort area and it slowly started turning into a powerful development with the help of serious investments. One of the key figures of this initiative of Krasnaya Polyana was Akhmed Bilalov, a successful Russian businessman, MP of The State Duma of the Russian Federation of the fourth convocation from the regional branch of the United Russia party in the Krasnodar Territory. Bilalov invested the first $ 15 million from his funds in the business. Implementation and construction proceeded at a rapid pace. Exactly one year later in 2005 Akhmed Bilalov, together with the then Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation German Gref, President of the Olympic Committee of Russia Leonid Tyagachev and the Governor of Krasnodar Territory Alexander Tkachev solemnly cut the ribbon and opened the first modern lift on Krasnaya Polyana.
