101_The Mongols(Week 11 TRA)
The mongols are the last, great nomadic people to disrupt settled societies and the do so on a grand scale. In addition to the devastation, however, they do pave the way for peace and prosperity, the rise of early modern Empires, like in Russia and Turkey, as well as increase European awareness of the outside world. Pax Mongolica may not have lasted terribly long, but the world will never be the same because of it.
