He got his own series very quickly and now he no longer appears in the Mario Brothers gaming series. The game was named the Donkey Kong arcade game by Miyamoto the creator of the series. He thought that the Donkey Kong arcade game was a great name as donkey meant stupid in Japanese and kong meant ape. As a result, the name Donkey Kong arcade game or the Stupid Ape arcade game stuck and it quickly became the most popular game released during the early 80s.
