This is where Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera lived, (their houses are now the Frida Kahlo Museum), and the tranquil residential area, with parks, squares, and cobblestone streets, is now a favourite spot for the bohemia set. It is here, around the atrium of the Saint John the Baptist church, where the social life of Coyoacan unfolds, enriched by cafés, bars, bookstores, museums and the colorful festivals which culminate in the tumultuous grito ceremony celebrating Mexico's independence on the 16th of September.

Travel Goals of Melissa St. Pierre
Melissa St. Pierre went to Los Angeles and San Francisco. She visited the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco. She saw Diego Rivera’s The Flower Carrier. She also saw Frida Kahlo’s Frida and Diego Rivera. In Los Angeles, Melissa went to the Getty Center and the Getty Villa. Melissa loved the beauty of both buildings. She preferred the villa for the vast number of ancient statues.

Joel Iwataki - A Leading Music Composer and Mixer
Joel Iwataki learned orchestration and composition from film composers “Albert Harris” and “Richard Markowitz”. While writing big band arrangements for Vegas acts Joel Iwataki composed music for Disney Educational Films and a PBS documentary. On hearing his scores other composers would ask him to help mix their projects. After meeting the great film composer Elliot Goldenthal, Joel made film score mixing his career. In a career mixing over 150 scores high points have been the scores of Elliot Goldenthal including “Alien3”, “Batman Forever”, “Titus”, “Final Fantasy” and the Oscar-winning score for "Frida".
