presentations on the Web. Enables presenters to share a presentation with a select
circle of friends or associates, live on the Internet. A quick and easy way of discussing
a presentation using text chat and third party audio conferencing, this facility
has opened up a new channel of live communication for use in business, education,
entertainment and other sectors.
Raleigh, NC, United States, September 2, 2008
authorSTREAM, a Web-based PowerPoint presentation sharing platform today announced
a new feature 'Present Live'. Present Live is an online presenting and meeting solution
allowing presenters to deliver a PowerPoint presentation with maximum ease and control
via the Internet. authorSTREAM users can discuss a presentation while communicating,
using the inbuilt group-chat feature or a third-party audio conferencing facility
like Skype.
Presenters just need to upload a PowerPoint presentation and share the 'Present
Live' link with their contacts. All invited contacts can then watch and discuss
the same presentation using text chat. Slide delivery is synchronized in real time,
which means that when the presenter changes a slide, everyone attending will be
on the same slide. Animations work the same way as in an offline PowerPoint file.
Presenters can also display at a conference where attendees can discuss using a
VoIP application like Skype or using the regular conference call.
Harman Singh, CEO of authorGEN Technologies, the parent company of authorSTREAM
says, “As a commitment to enable our users to share their PowerPoint presentations
over the Internet and other mediums, we have introduced the Present Live feature.
We are trying to bring a similar experience to PowerPoint users in the online mode
as it would be in the offline mode - PowerPoint users usually present their presentations
live in board rooms, conference rooms and classes. Now they can do the same thing
online - start the presentation, communicate with their audience live, change slides
that are synchronously displayed on everyone's screen and so on."
Umesh, Product Head of authorSTREAM adds, "Most of us are already in the habit
of using PowerPoint to present our ideas and discussing them in our conference rooms.
Present Live will help us do that online now, with people sitting across the globe,
at home or at office, holidaying at Hawaii or at a coffee shop in the evening!"
