Slide 3:My name is Cris Lowery My job is to help you find ways to
introduce young adults to Jesus: We have learned some important things this
year about young adults in Oklahoma:
Slide 4:They respond to relationships With other young adults With older adults With people who will listen to their story
Slide 5:If they have spiritual questions, the first
place they will go for answers is: A spiritual person they have a relationship with.
Slide 6:68.5% of unchurched young adults in Oklahoma consider themselves to be either very spiritual or somewhat spiritual.
Slide 7:Over half of the unchurched young adults believe Jesus is the one and only Son of God.
Slide 8:They do think about spiritual matters.
Slide 9:So how do we get the best message ever told…
To a group that needs to hear it…
In a way that is relevant to their culture…
Slide 10:Through relationships…
In your neighborhood
Where you work…
Where you live your life…
Slide 11:Through small group experiences that are missional:
That leave the building and do service projects in their community…
That engage them in spiritual discussions rather than lectures…
That provide them with a loving community to be involved in…
Slide 12:They are drawn to people who..
Are genuine
Are interested in them
Listen to their story
Love them… even if they do not believe the same way you do
Slide 13:Can young adults be reached
with the story of Jesus? ABSOLUTELY!!!!
Slide 14:Will it take some changes
in how we do things? YES
Slide 15:Will it hurt? NOT AS MUCH AS WE THINK!
Slide 16:Over 60 Oklahoma churches are already participating in a pilot program designed to find practical ways to reach young adults in their community.
