Bridget Busutil: Bridget Busutil International Encaustic Artist
Slide2: Artist statement My life is about Art
and reflects
the multicultural diversity
in which I was raised
Slide3: I favour projects
that mix
Arts
and
multiculturalism
and are interdisciplinary.
Slide4: The necessity is to succeed
in viewing these differences
as contributions to our own cultures
and understand the wealth
they have to offer.
Slide5: Through my work I am offering
the discovery of several worlds
packed up in layers
as in my encaustic,
a sort of journey of self-discovery,
as well as discovery of ‘the other’
with the respect for cultural differences.
Slide6: I think that as an artist
my world
is not limited
to an aesthetical dimension ..it goes beyond by engaging
a dialogue with the viewer
that proposes discovery,
criticism and reflection.
Slide7: When I paint
or teach students to draw a line…,
I am aware of reaching out
for a world without frontiers.
Slide8: Technically I wish to bridge the past
to the present and show
that there is a continuity
in life experience
that only artists are capable of showing.
Slide9: My Details:
Artist without frontier!

Slide13: My way.
I have always been passionate about colour, and research pigments and natural colour forms so that I could create my own colours and choose their support. My extensive study on Egyptian Art has led to create my own encaustic products to be used in methods I have developed.
Slide14: I also enjoy creating acrylic washes which leave the linen unprepared and let the beholder view the textile as part of the composition. I love the touch of paper and use it as well with ink and colour or beeswax.
Slide15: Why should we give up on what the past has given us? We are what It made us..
My art belongs to the Present and expresses my present concerns: political, ecological and psychological.
But it is my way and reflects my inner journey.
