What are RSS Feeds and how do I use them?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is an XML based format that is used for content distribution and syndication. When you subscribe to RSS feeds, you automatically receive custom and up-to-date information from your favorite online content sources automatically without checking for updates.

For instance, if you subscribe to Most Viewed presentations on authorSTREAM, you can automatically view them in your RSS Reader. RSS Reader displays RSS feeds from the websites you specify. You can either download a dedicated reader or you can use a web based reader.
