The video inserted using authorSTREAM Desktop will play fine in PowerPoint slide, but with internet connection. The PowerPoint file with YouTube video inserted can be copied to any drive and will play on all devices where internet is connected.

To get HD resolution you can customize the Page Setup while creating the PowerPoint. Below are some of the HD video dimensions I have tested on authorSTREAM with good resolution.
Page setup , Width , Height , Video Output
4:03 , 10 , 7.5 , 960 x 720
16:09 , 10 , 5.63 , 1280 x 720
16:10 , 10 , 6.25 , 1152 x 720

Thank you for the suggestion. Currently, authorSTREAM Desktop add-in is only supported with Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 and 2010. The add-in is compatible with MS office 32 bit with windows 7 and 64 bit version of MS office 2010

I assume you are carrying the presentation on a portable drive to your class and playing on a system without internet connection. The YouTube video inserted in slide is embedded with PowerPoint and will play on any system with internet connection.

I can download YT Video to PPT just fine. However I use a stick to take to class and present PPT on the schools PC, . Don't I need to find the YT Video file
and put it on my s\tick to get the PPT embed video to work?

I am trying to download you tube video to my PPT. which I can do successfully. When I try to show PPT from stick drive the video
does not work. Can I down load You tube file to my computer using Authorstream copy file to stick ?
