My m8 uploaded a presentation and he asked me to put it on youtube because he doesn't want to mess around making an account. Now he told me to download it as a video, but authorSTREAM won't let me. any suggestions?

My video which was recorded using a Flip Camera and is allotted for 37 seconds at the beginning and end of the presentation did not upload. So there is music playing for what seems like an eternity for the first and last slide. Help!!!! I am waiting now for it to be converted to video but had no idea that my video portion did not upload before I sent the URL to Twitter and Linked In. How can I get the video to upload?

It seems that your browser has some association set with a media player which is trying to play video in browser itself. Such browser associations are set by media players like iTunes, QuickTime and some other.

Please follow the steps below to download the video of your presentation:
1) Go to Your Stuff page: http://www.authorstream.com/MyUploaded-Presentations/All OR presentation page.
2) Right Click on the video icon and click ‘Save Target as’ or ‘Save Link as’ (depends upon the browser you are using)

In case of linked audio (only mp3 and wav) and embedded / lniked video, you can try uploading your PowerPoint file using authorSTREAM desktop (http://www.authorstream.com/desktop )

You can search and download any presentation provided the owner of that particular presentation allows download.
The presentations which are available for download will have PowerPoint icon to start download and the ones that are not available will have download icon grayed out. If the presentation is available for download Click on Download Icon just above the presentation, a window will Pop-up and will ask you to save a file. You can click on save file and the presentation will be downloaded.

I am also having trouble downloading videos. I have converted my presentation, and exported it to youtube. I want to download a copy of the file so I enabled video downloads, but when I click on the link to download I get redirected to a dark grey blank page with a play arrow in the middle, and nothing happens. http://s3.amazonaws.com/asVideo/mpeg4/1249072_634569018490168750-Z1.mp4. That's the page that shows up, not sure if it'll show up the same for anyone else.

this is a very common problem of browser, who have some association set with a some media player due to which the video is trying to play in a blank screen with a play button in the middle. To download the video to your system- next to the presentation- under the download menu, right click on the video icon and click ‘Save Target as’ or ‘Save Link as’ (depends upon the browser you are using) and save the video on your system.
