Upon clicking "dowload as video" on certain presentations, I recieve a message that says that I don't have permission to access the page; so I cannot download the videos. Most doen load just fine. Any ideas on how to correct the situation?
Thanks

I generally use AuthorStream for downloading videos, may be this situation is due to some changes in network settings like permissions or downloads at your end and it could also be due to a temporary glitch with the servers. Just try after 5 minutes.

Could these non-downloadable presentations be "private"? I notice on the download screen the author can opt not to allow downloads.

Hi,
authorSTREAM converts presentations in video(MP4 or M4V) if PowerPoint has timings. Presentations are converted in MP4 format only if it has transition sound or audio added through record narration feature of PowerPoint. If PowerPoint file uploaded do not have audio then it will be converted in M4V format.

Non downloadable presentations means the owner does not want them to be downloaded but open for public view. These presentations are not private as the private presentations can be seen only by owner and the registered user having its link.

At the download video moment, we get directed to a Quicktime pro 7 purchase page.. seems to me this is just a 'catch 22' free but not free moment. DUPED

I converted my presentation to a video and I paid to convert it without logo's.

I cannot download it. I click download and it opens a new browser screen where I can see the video play but I CANNOT download it onto my computer. It says I need to buy Quicktimes?? Is there a catch here?? I spent over 8 hours trying to re-format my animations and text so that the format comes out right when I upload it to authorstream. The entire purpose was for me to convert my powerpoint to video and so I can have my OWN video file on MY computer.

It seems that your browser has some association set with a media player which is trying to play video in browser itself. Such browser associations are set by media players like iTunes, QuickTime and some other.

Please follow the steps below to download the video of your presentation:

1) Go to Your Stuff page: http://www.authorstream.com/MyUploaded-Presentations/All OR presentation page.
2) Right Click on the video icon and click ‘Save Target as’ or ‘Save Link as’ (depends upon the browser you are using)

Thank you! That worked perfectly!

Am I just inept or can I not download a converted presentation once it is converted (I used video credits to have the PPT files converted)? Is there a trick or do I have to spend more money to get a subscription in order to download them? Arggggg.......
P.S. I have a deadline that is tomorrow.

What is the "video icon?" "I clicked on the thumbnail of the video, and clicked "Save Link," but that just sames the HTML page. I want to download and save the video file.

BTW, after downloading the link, I clicked on it, it attempts to open the page, but the black square placeholder for the video has a spinning icon as if it is still downloading it. It's a 3.75 minute presentation. It does this for hours. I did download the video and watch it on a media player (DivX), but that's not what I wanted.

Oh, after you download it and it opens your default media player inside an html page, right click anywhere on the that page, and you have an opportunity to save it as a .mp4 file.
