Good grief. I'm no better off than when I started. I WANTED to convert my .ppt file to avi so I COULD put in MY .avi software to Edit. Geeze. I'm guessing that's not possible now that I have 'arrived'. ANYONE?

AVI format is a paid video format for PowerPoint to video conversion on authorSTREAM. Pay $2 for one video conversion. You can buy video credit from http://www.authorstream.com/premium/buyascredits/

Sign in to authorstream account and next to the presentation that you want to convert to video, under the video menu select "Convert to Video". A window opens giving you an option for free and paid video conversion. Go for paid format and select AVI in output format options.
After you select the AVI format, click on convert to video now. You can convert your PowerPoint presentation to video only when it is set to play automatically.

Hope this helps

I converted my presentation to video, it prompted me to pay the $3 for video conversion. I did so. It converted it. But I didn't see an option anywhere to select AVI output format. Also, when I download the video, it doesn't give me an opportunity to save it. Help?

After you have made your presentation video compatible and have credits to convert it in AVI format. Go to My stuff page http://www.authorstream.com/MyUploaded-Presentations and next to the ppt, click convert to video. A window opens here you can select the “Output Format” as “AVI” which will work on most of the DVD players. Finally click convert to video and presentation will be converted in video.
